When, not where

Solo Exhibition
26 May 2010 - 13 Jun 2010

A transcendent moment is not necessarily dependant on place, but is often a matter of timing. On the first encounter a mountain ridge may appear two dimensional; come across the same peaks at another time, however, and the sublime may emerge. Such happenstance of weather and light over familiar landforms constantly creates the new and unexpected. Visited at another time, that which transfixed my attention will have dispersed and as such experiences can never be repeated, each painting becomes a shadow of a passing moment.
