Nicholas Blowers recent works walk a line between painting and drawing and is a continuation of his interest in the process of mark making. His current subjects are the strange, muscular trees that are to be found in the parks and open spaces of Australia. He says "I see them as heroic subjects representing something noble and majestic. There is something particular and innate to each tree so that it often feels like I am painting a portrait."
