Filomena Coppola says of her new body of work "The symbolic representation of opposites and their interaction is a recurrent theme of my artistic practice. My work examines the point of intersection between the two opposing elements. The work explores the interdependence of Australian and Italian, masculine and feminine, light and shadow as well as seduction and repulsion. The drawings contrast the differences and similarities, the points of convergence and divergence as the opposites either merge or function as separate entities". |
