Lost signals a thematic shift in David Frazer's work. One of Australia's most important printmakers, he returns in this exhibition to his original training and passion for painting. The works present environments deserted by human occupants. Ageing caravans now populate the pictures, pointing to a struggling life on the road with no fixed address. As always, an element of humour is used by Frazer in typical Australian fashion to express serious emotional situations that are both sad and beautiful. |
