Jenni Mitchell is a photographer and painter whose sense of adventure has taken her on a gruelling journey to the Antarctic. In 2002, Mitchell was awarded a fellowship to sail with the Australian Antarctic Division as an artist-in-residence on the MV Polar Bird to Casey Station. Working under extreme environmental conditions, Mitchell captured on film, canvas, and the written word, the endless world of ice and ocean that surrounded the ship as it headed south. The result is a published book; To the Ice - Images of the Antarctic and a comprehensive body of work.
