Peter Olive's 2000 exhibition is  a mix of interiors, still lives, genre paintings and urban landscapes. Olive is a tonalist reminiscent of Dobell. It's about drawing, light mass, texture and composition. The subject matter is the "everyday". The works are imbued with pathos by being singled out as suitable subject matter for art. The sombre moods are enhanced by cropping and focussing on intimate corners.
